Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer. The successful candidate shall provide services, including fault management, configuration management and asset management, account management (for empirical user data and fiscal accountability), proactive and real-time performance management, and security management for client networking environment. The successful candidate will use Government-provided tools, deliver near real-time information feeds to support
This support area has seven primary activities:
Network communications and data support
Commercial network service
Voice and video telecommunications
Remote access service
Maintain Government oversight, maintain accessible historical data, and provide summary management reports that detail the network management service functions and enable client and the Contractor to forecast future networking requirements through the use of modeling techniques.
Proactively monitor the WAN and LAN and provide monthly reports of network utilization, availability, and other industry-standard network performance statistics
Provide network operation displays to client-authorized users on a real-time basis, indicating status of network assets and showing performance status of the overall network and individual servers and routers.
Monitor the network for suspicious activity and report security incidents to the client
Computer Security Incident Response Center:
Monitor network activity and provide detailed status reports using the Network
The candidate shall configure networking devices, including physical and virtual networking devices, protocols, services, and applications to ensure successful and consistent communications on the client network.
Design and optimization of communications and site configurations
Install, maintain, and monitor communications equipment and other hardware
Keep records of hardware and software configurations and versions, and logical and physical diagrams of network components
Continuously monitor clients network communications to ensure the network is operating effectively and efficiently, and to ensure it can adequately allocate resources to support the data, voice, and video transfer of all applications, services, and systems provided by client The candidate shall support services that enable access all IT resources, such as voice, video, and data networks, from remote locations via the internet. The remote access services shall authorize access to a client-defined set of services, with sufficient capacity available to accommodate surge requirements. Remote access services must meet security standards and provide for multiple authentication methods.
Ability to obtain a Government security clearance and the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field with 10+ years of network experience.
Experience leading and managing very large teams of 100 or more personnel. Enterprise IT leadership is preferred.
Experience supporting U.S. Government customers is preferred.
U.S. Citizenship required.
