Medical Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures, including practicing aseptic techniques
- Assist with medical procedures such as cardiac catheterization or medical imaging
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
Medical Surgical Telemetry RN Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care while adhering to professional standards
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Experience in dialyzing patients or working with assisted living residents is a plus
