Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is searching for a 1st Shift Assistant Distribution Center Manager for our Columbus, OH location. We are looking for a hardworking, motivated, and customer focused individual.
Our Operations team is growing rapidly to support our Nationwide Distribution Network. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to manage and lead key areas within our Operations Department. The Assistant Manager would be responsible for controlling the operation and cost of the specific area of responsibility, planning for changes in material handling systems, planning production to accommodate sales growth and increased purchasing, along with managing day to day operations continuous improvement, maintaining standard operating procedures, trouble shooting, and developing the next leaders in our rapidly growing company.

This position requires a college degree in an appropriate business-related field or equivalent job-related experience
This position requires three to five years of increasingly responsible experience in Distribution Center Management position(s)
This position requires the ability to read and write small letters and numbers, and the ability to make arithmetic calculations
This position requires the ability to delegate responsibilities and organize work-flow
This position requires the ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, managers and the sales force in both written and verbal form
This position requires the ability to respond quickly to problems, and the ability to work in a stressful environment
This position requires mobility - lifting, crouching, standing and climbing
This position requires the familiarity of standard freight procedures, and a basic understanding of safety procedures
This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing fifty (50) pounds
This position may require working long hours and/or weekends.
This position may require some travel
This position requires the execution of an Employment Agreement contract between Kimball Midwest and the employee
This position requires the successful completion of a ninety (90) day orientation period
Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred, but not required.
