The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a temporary, part-time Music Therapist. The incumbent in this role will provide clinical and evidence-based music interventions to accomplish individualized goals in the cognitive, social/emotional, speech and language, and sensorimotor domains. Collaborates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide family centered therapy services and to develop and administer an individualized plan of care, adhering to the professional standards of practice of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). Is able to independently run music therapy and music-based programs including but not limited to choral programs, wellness groups, in-services, etc.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor’s degree, Masters, PhD or equivalency programs in Music Therapy from an AMTA approved program required. Board Certified Music Therapist (CBMT) certification required. If none exists, must acquire within three months of hire. Additional Music Therapy Certification (NMT, HPMT, Bonny-Method, etc.) preferred but not required. One year experience required; three years of experience in a clinical setting with cancer patients preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
