Architect/Engineer
The Architect or Engineer will be responsible for designing commercial layouts and residential restoration; ensuring that projects stay within budget and comply with regulations. This position requires a mix of fieldwork and office tasks, so adaptability, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organization skills are key.
Essential Duties:
- Analyzing existing survey reports and confirming existing conditions in the field.
- Performing site visits to assess commercial and residential spaces.
- Proficiency in NYS & NYC Building codes and compliance standards.
- Considering budget, regulations, and environmental factors during risk analysis.
- Collaborating with stakeholders for modifications.
- Forecasting design and construction timelines.
- Coordinating permit applications and compliance with Plumbers and Electricians.
- Assisting Property Managers with project fit-outs.
- Utilizing CAD design software for drawings and renderings.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Drafting schematics using various software tools.
- Collaborating on 2D animations and visualizations.
- Supporting CAD tasks, including mechanical design and drafting.
- Maintaining project files and ensuring documentation is current.
- Managing calendars and coordinating meetings.
- Preparing reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Researching industry trends and best practices.
- Assisting with general office tasks.
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Associate's Degree in Drafting with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Physical abilities: climbing stairs, lifting boxes (minimum 40 pounds), prolonged computer work, and using public transportation.
- Strong CAD knowledge (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup).
- Proficiency in drafting software (Civil 3D, SolidWorks).
- Experience with 2D animation software.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Problem-solving skills and creativity.
- Knowledge of the Spanish language is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years of experience.
- AutoCAD: 3 years (Preferred) of building/structures is a plus.
- Access to personal vehicle for work site transportation.
- Knowledge and familiarity with structural assessment of building/structures is a plus.
