This engineering intern position requires performing in a multifunctional team comprised of hardware, systems and software engineers. The candidate selected will be involved with the development of the training devices that are used within the US DoD rotary-wing and/or fixed wing market. Some programs that we provide training systems for are the VH-92 Presidential Helicopter, the B-52 and the E-2.
Seeking an Electrical and Electronics student who will assist in circuit design and analysis, troubleshoots technical and electrical device problems, operates test equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects in a production environment.
Electrical assembly design/development/analysis
Create documentation including hardware design plans, technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans and reports.
Support current production designs including quality improvements, cost reduction, component obsolescence and failure analysis.
Evaluate and approve electronic components to meet requirements for availability, performance and cost.
Support project planning efforts and ensure execution to schedule and budget.
Evaluate failures to determine root cause and corrective actions.
Support engineering hardware validation/verification and production acceptance testing.
Interface with manufacturing engineers and technicians.
Apply knowledge of tolerance analysis, simulation and statistical methods to improve robustness and quality of electronic designs.
Initially, he/she will work closely with a senior engineering mentor who will provide guidance to learn design processes and procedures. As you gain knowledge, you will transition into a contributing member of an integrated product team responsible for executing a specific engineering project.
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited institution
Must have GPA of 3.0
Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework
