About This Role:
The IT Support Specialist II at Kansas State University Libraries , provides technology support for K-State Libraries staff, students and patrons.

Following the May 22, 2018, fire in Hale Library , the university’s 550,000-square-foot main building, the administration, faculty and staff, who had been looking forward to the creation of a first-floor learning commons, will instead reimagine the institution from the ground up. Innovative technology will be a critical component of this rebuilding.

Responsible for research, recommendation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software used at K-State Libraries. Provides options to resolve workflow issues, investigates unit and departmental equipment and software needs and recommends purchases. Documents training and solutions as well as setup configuration, process and procedures for technology. Two positions are available at this time.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma

Two years of experience with information technology support

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with current hardware and software

Ability to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environments as well as independently

Evidence of problem solving skills

Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills

Library Experience

Supervisory Experience

Experience with both Windows and MacOS

Experience Creating operating system images

Experience managing Group Policy

Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or related field

Other Requirements:

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:
$ 37,410 – $ 57,980 Annually

Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, internal equity and departmental funding. Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
