Responsible for the overall functioning, supervision, and direction of the Region assigned.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitor all division and branch overheads to insure proper utilization of resources and proper expense management by division and branch managers.
Monitor all division and branch contracts to insure proper expense management and maximization of operating profits are being accomplished by division and branch managers.
EQUIPMENT UTILIZATION AND AVAILABILITY
Make sure all division and branch managers’ utilization of current equipment inventory is effective, and that the inventory is of sufficient quantity to handle regional office needs.
Through coordination of division-specific needs, put together long-term personnel and equipment scheduling to determine overall regional office needs. To accomplish this, each division and branch sales plan must be in place. This process is continually updated as to the progress of each division and branch sales plan.
Review contract progress relating to production, time frame and meeting contract specifications.
Work with division and branch managers in determining needs for chemicals and equipment, then packaging those needs to obtain the best deals for the company.
To monitor inventory levels to insure division managers and branch managers are making smart purchasing decisions.
SAFETY / COMPLIANCE
To insure division and branch managers are abiding by all federal, state and local laws within the scope of their contracts.
Provide division and branch managers with the means to be in compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
Monitor fleet of vehicles and equipment to insure worthiness, thus not jeopardizing DeAngelo Brothers, Inc. employees.
DOCUMENTATION / RECORD KEEPING
Monitor division and branch aging reports to insure timely billing is taking place, and to monitor cash flow.
Monitor petty cash balance sheet to monitor petty cash within the regional office.
Monitor chemical inventory sheets (usage) and physical count inventories for major variances.
Keep on file a copy of all claims against the company from general public, customers or employees, and update these files as communications occur.
Keep a job costing book by division and branch and monitor job progress and division progress from weekly job costing P&L’s.
Work with operations manager to insure information is being processed accurately and timely.
Approve division and branch managers’ expense reports.
Insure division and branch managers are making proper utilization of the account manager program.
Regional Sales Plans
WORK WITH EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, DIVISION AND BRANCH MANAGERS TO DEVELOP REGIONAL OFFICE SALES PLANS BY DIVISION
From this sales plan, the general manager and division and branch managers will develop equipment needs and personnel needs budget.
As the sales plan develops and contracts are awarded to DeAngelo Brothers, Inc., adjustments to the needs budgets must be made.
When the lion’s share of the contracts are awarded to DeAngelo Brothers, Inc., general manager, division and branch managers will work to develop chemical needs to accommodate bulk purchasing.
DIVISION AND BRANCH OVERHEAD BUDGETING
To work with division and branch managers in providing direction for the development of the division and branch overhead budgets.
TO MONITOR ALL BIDS BEING PROPOSED TO INSURE THE FOLLOWING:
DeAngelo Brothers, Inc. bidding philosophies are being upheld.
All direct expenses are accounted for properly.
Contract specifications are addressed properly and accounted for in bid price.
All math is done correctly.
Scouting or pre-bid information makes sense.
Make sure any previous bid results (where applicable) are being taken into consideration.
Make sure the work is within the scope of the region’s capabilities and resources.
As a minimum, this position requires at least five years of upper level management experience in the vegetation or greens industry.
Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Greens Industry or related field preferred.
Previous supervisory, budgeting, operational, facility and subordinate development experience preferred.
Must possess good interpersonal skills, be a team player and have good communication skills.
Experience in terrestrial and aquatic vegetation management a plus
