Full Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Incorporate best practices in developing, implementing and executing processes related to recruiting, onboarding, policy administration, employee relations, performance management, payroll and benefits administration, employee development, and regulatory compliance primarily to the Operations division.
Consult with employees and plant leadership in raising and resolving workplace issues. Regularly assess the plant climate and employee engagement. Make recommendations to improve and ensure a vibrant culture and good work environment.
Support all human resources operations departments that are essential to the efficient function of the Houston and Fall River plant;
Provide support for administrative HR duties, including answering general employee questions, employee file maintenance, data entry, managing job descriptions, unemployment claims, employment verifications, and KPI dashboards/reports, etc.
Respond to employee HR related questions regarding benefits, paychecks, leave of absences, PTO, etc.
Coordinate onboarding for new employees, including temporary plant employees;
Create HR related presentations, such as supervisor training, and first day of work new hire orientation;
Schedule and/or conduct employee trainings and meetings, such as the annual Code of Business Conduct training;
Coordinate with HR Director on leave of absence administration tasks including FMLA, Worker’s Comp, Personal leaves, military leaves, STD and LTD;
Coordinates recruiting activities, including scheduling interviews, reviews job openings, reviews resumes with hiring managers, completes hiring forms and requests offer letters from HR Director;
Reviews, maintains, and inputs employee data into UltiPro, and runs all necessary reports.
Knowledge of HR laws and best practices, required
Three to ten years HR experience, including 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
Bilingual (Spanish) or strong motivation to learn conversational Spanish
Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, required
Able to handle multiple tasks as well as the ability to prioritize and handle a demanding workload, required
Able to work independently and with little supervision, required
Proficient in PC skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
UltiPro and / or JD Edwards experience, desired
BS or BA degree in Human Resources, Business or related.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance with EEOC, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FLSA, and other state or federal laws.
PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification required. (If not, must obtain within 2 years)
