Strategic Partnerships (SP) reports into the Global Development Organization (GD) supporting, enabling and connecting GD’s functional areas with key strategic suppliers. SP’s focus with these supplier partnerships is to put in place mutually beneficial relationships with formal governances, goals and objectives and communication channels. SP also provides alliance related guidance to internal and supplier clinical teams to aid in improved partnership behaviors, performance and growth!
The CRO Services component of the SP organization focuses on Janssen’s CRO supplier relationships. The individual in the CRO Services AD role will be primarily responsible for the alliance management of one key, multi-million-dollar, multi-study alliance with one of Janssen’s key CRO suppliers.
Solid prioritization, simplification and problem-solving, skills are key to being successful in this role. The individual must be big picture focused and able to implement solutions at a ground level.
As a member of Strategic Partnerships organization, the individual will be expected to understand the needs and handle expectations of internal and external business partners.
Maintain a right-fitted Janssen / CRO governance structure that maintains the health, measures the delivery, and grows the Janssen/CRO relationship.
Lead all governance meetings from the operational level and down for your supported partnership. This includes developing the focus, materials, and finalizing the minutes.
Have an in-depth understanding of the structure, strategy and needs of the Janssen business areas supported and co-ordinate work requirements across SP.
Demonstrate collaborative behaviors
Address and problem-solve systemic issues occurring in the partnership to bring appropriate awareness and to drive improvements.
Integrate lessons learned through the partnership into forward activities.
Build key relationships with key business partners to ensure scope of the partnership relationship remains healthy.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 or more years of experience working with supplier alliances (for example: clinical vendors or CROs) is required.
A solid understanding of clinical research is required.
Experience in clinical operations is preferred.
Strong project management and analytical skills is required
A consistent track record of working effectively cross-organizationally in a global environment is required
Strong verbal and written communication skills is required
Proven ability to execute needed changes for improvement is required.
Have a solid working use of Micro Soft business tools and programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
