Department: Engineering and Public Works/Traffic Operations Hours: 6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday
Other: Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
Performs highly technical field and bench work involving the design, installation, repair and maintenance of traffic signal control devices and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) data and video components; maintains documentation; interprets communications and construction drawings. Requires 24-hour emergency call-out on a rotation basis.

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification, supplemented by vocational, military or college-level training in Electronic Technology; minimum of three (3) years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic traffic signal control devices.

Necessary Special Requirements: Must possess International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I Traffic Signal Technician Certification and IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification at time of appointment. IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician Certification must be obtained within 11 months of hire.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Installation of video cameras or audible pedestrian systems. Also desirable: Related Bachelor's Degree.
