EMT FTO & Event Safety Supervisor

Joffe Emergency Services - Kansas City, MO (30+ days ago)4.0

Joffe Emergency Services is the premier provider of emergency response training, event safety, and disaster preparedness consulting. We supply medical and safety support personnel for events and trainings around the country: from endurance events and charity 5Ks to local CPR classes, First Aid and Disaster Preparedness Training for Schools and Businesses, the Joffe Team offers the safety expertise our clients need and the peace of mind they deserve.

The Event Safety Supervisor (ESS)/FTO is our primary on-scene commander for small events, and is an assistant to the primary on-scene commander at larger events. The ESS is responsible for oversight of Responders and Contracted Medical, EMT, and Security staff and may be called upon to provide direct patient care. The ESS is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all paperwork completed within their assigned areas, including patient logs and patient care records. The ESS is also responsible for communicating with Responders before the event to ensure they have the information required to arrive on scene ready to work, and completing post-event reports and providing required patient information to the Event Safety Manager within 48 hours of the close of your event.

When acting as the primary on-scene commander they function as the primary point-of-contact for the on-scene event management team and the liaison between the event and their designated Event Safety Lead/Lead FTO and Joffe HQ. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the event safety, medical, and security needs per their training and assignment requirements, and ensuring that required data, paperwork, or equipment is promptly returned to the responsible superior (Area Ambassador or Event Safety Manager). This position may require some travel within the regional geographic area during the active events season (April-November). The majority of jobs for our ESS/FTO's are on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, often in remote locations, so weekend availability and reliable transportation are required.

When acting under the direction of an ESL/Lead FTO, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a single component of a larger event, such as the Medical Tent Supervisor or Transport Supervisor. They are responsible for completing the tasks delegated to them promptly and according to the provided directions and training, and relaying any necessary information to their immediate superior.
