The Staffing Coordinator Assistant performs under the direct supervision of the Emergency Services Nursing Director. Job responsibilities include assisting with producing and maintaining an accurate master staffing schedule for Emergency Services. Processes various staffing changes in the computer and ensuring accurate worked hours for payroll.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills to effectively communicate and interact with staff of all age groups in an appropriate and timely manner while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Demonstrates skills to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Communicates pertinent staffing information and changes with staffing/scheduling needs to reduce/eliminate problems to the Emergency Services Patient Care Manager.
Demonstrates ability to accurately input taffing schedules and makes corrections as directed by the patient care manager.
Completes monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of all shift are staffed adequately.
Demonstrates technical skills to operate telephone, fax, scanner, and computer.
Maintains own clinical skills staying current in skills, ongoing competencies, equipment and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Consistently follows FGH policy, procedures, and standards of care in preforming duties
Alerts director when adequate staffing cannot be maintained due to limited personnel resources to ensure those issues can be resolved before patient care units experience inadequate staffing

Diploma or GED required. Required to type 50 - 60 wpm. Computer literacy required.
Previous secretarial experience preferred.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, and demonstrate initiative. Able to prioritize and meet project deadlines; have good written and verbal communications skills; ability to maintain rapport.
