Note: This position is contingent upon successful contract award.
The Database Administrator will provide technical and engineering expertise to operate and maintain the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.
Ensures performance, integrity and security of a database. Additional role requirements include planning, development and troubleshooting.
Responsible for installing, patching, performance tuning and monitoring of database management systems in high available systems.
Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
Develops, implements, and maintains database backup and recovery procedures for the processing environments and ensures that data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into the DBMS applications.
Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
Minimum Requirements and Education:
BS in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum five years of relevant experience in supporting highly complex database engineering projects using advanced knowledge of database engineering and administration.
Health / benefits domain experience a plus.
OPM domain experience a plus.
Experience with desired technologies will vary based on years of experience. Be prepared to discuss the technologies below which you have experience with from previous projects:
