Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Opioid Treatment
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Opioid Treatment, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and comprehensive care to patients struggling with opioid addiction. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to create treatment plans, administer medications, monitor progress, and provide education and support to both patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment
- Administer medications, including opioid replacement therapies, and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
- Collaborate with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide education on addiction, recovery, and harm reduction strategies
- Monitor patients for signs of overdose and other complications
- Offer support and counseling to patients and their families
- Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with a focus on addiction or mental health
- Certification in Opioid Treatment (e.g. CARN or CARN-AP) preferred
- Strong understanding of addiction and its impact on individuals and communities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude towards patients
