The NFL is seeking a transactional attorney who will be responsible for a broad range of media-related deal and advisory support across traditional and emerging platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to help advance the League’s media business and strategy.
Strong candidates will possess a sound understanding of content distribution and licensing, broadcast and cable television, and digital media and technology, and will have experience in connection with structuring and drafting complex content-related agreements.
This position will help to provide legal support in connection with arrangements for the distribution of live NFL games across television and digital platforms.
The position also will provide legal support for various initiatives and projects throughout the NFL’s owned and operated media businesses, including NFL Network, NFL Films, NFL.com, the NFL app, NFL Game Pass and NFL RedZone, and other transactional legal support for the NFL’s media business as required.
The position will report to the NFL’s Senior Vice President/Media Counsel and also support the VP/Media Counsel. The position will interact with other members of the NFL legal department, business executives throughout the League and its media businesses and, as appropriate, with counterparts at existing and potential NFL media partners.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university/college and J.D. from an accredited law school
3+ years’ experience in a transactional legal role at a top-tier law firm or major media company, preferably focusing on content distribution/licensing
Valid membership (in good standing) in New York or another state bar
Strong contract drafting experience, preferably including content distribution/licensing across traditional and emerging platforms and business models
Comfort and established proficiency with complex and multi-faceted agreements
Excellent communication and project management skills
Organization, efficiency and attention to detail
Ability to handle diverse projects simultaneously with multiple stakeholders
Proven ability to work independently and to collaborate with others
