As a member of KWC’s audit team, the staff auditor assists inplanning and performing audits of nonprofit organizations, governmentcontractors, and construction companies. Your duties will include preparationof audit workpapers, financial statements, and tax returns. You’ll work closelywith a close-knit group of fellow auditors who enjoy sharing knowledge andpooling resources to complete projects. A typical day might include the following:

  • Set up and preparation of audit files in CCH® ProSystem fx®Engagement
  • Perform audit testing/fieldwork on-site at client facilities asinstructed by the engagement in-charge, with goal towards ability to workindependently on future engagements
  • Assist with wrap-up after audit fieldwork to include finalizingworkpapers and checklists using PPC Smart Audit
  • Preparation of draft financial statements and related auditdocuments, with goal to move towards review after establishing proficiency
  • Preparation of tax returns for audit clients in CCH® ProSystemfx® Tax, with goal to move towards review after establishing proficiency
  • Train and develop other staff members
  • Attending CPE to remain up-to-date on changes in GAAP and taxlaws

Thisposition is based out of the Alexandria, Virginia office.

Jobrequirements include the following:

  • 3+ years of public accounting experience
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in accounting, with a CPA license or are actively pursuing a CPA license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented, thorough and organized
  • Professional image and positive attitude
  • Team player that wants their voice heard and is receptive to constructive feedback
  • Ability to work in paperless environment

Jobresponsibilities include the following:

  • Supervise, schedule and train lower level staff
  • Review and preparation of financial statement audits, reviews and compilations
  • Client fieldwork, meetings and correspondence
  • Individual, partnership and corporate income tax return preparation
