For evaluation purposes, acceptable qualifying experience for all positions must have been in a paid capacity unless noted otherwise in the minimum qualifications for the posted position.
Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed. A minimum of 15 through 29 hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.

Dallas Police Department
Bachelor's degree in a forensic science, criminalistics, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physical science or social science field.
Four (4) years of experience in specialized training in crime scene investigation and analysis involving all of the following:
- Evidence collection/preservation
- Interviewing and record keeping/documentation
High school diploma/GED plus eight (8) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
An associate's degree in any field plus six (6) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
A bachelor's degree or higher in a non-specified field plus six (6) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
A master's degree or higher in a specified field plus two (2) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
Three (3) years as a Certified Peace Officer and two (2) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
LICENSE(S) and/or CERTIFICATION(S):
Valid driver's license with good driving record.
Must have or be able to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire the Level 1 certification from the International Association for Identification (I.A.I.)
No FELONY or class A misdemeanor convictions.
Availability for varying shifts, nights/weekends/holidays.
Subject to twenty-four/seven (24/7) call-out.
Working conditions include exposure to bio-hazardous material(s), inclement weather and confined spaces.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY(IES):
Effective oral/written communication skills.
MS Word/Excel (or similar software) skills
Prior training/teaching experience is preferable
