Chegg’s Flash Tools team develops the leading crowdsourced learning service to help students succeed in school. The Role:
We are seeking an analytical, creative and motivated self-starter to be our point person for driving product and business decisions for Chegg’s FlashTools.

You are comfortable working with SQL and No-SQL data stores, and understand the tradeoffs selecting between the different storage technologies.

Collaborate and innovate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver the best search experience across all Chegg products for millions of students.
Lead scalable, distributed search backend services and product integration.
Participate in the lean and agile development process in a fast-paced environment, from planning, scoping, estimation all the way to optimization, maintenance, and support.
Deliver implementation with an automated unit and user acceptance tests that enable continuous integration and delivery.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years of software engineering experience in an agile environment.
Experience in Java and Spring Framework.
Experience with Cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud.
Experience with developing and integrating with microservices.
Experience building high performance and resilient distributed software.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient with MongoDB/Elasticsearch or equivalent
Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects at once
Excited to challenge yourself
Exhibit of a sense of ownership for the quality of your work

Bonus Points:
Past experience with Docker/ECS/containerization technologies.
Practitioner of continuous delivery and continuous deployment
Strong working knowledge of Postgres
Working knowledge of Machine Learning
Experience with MapReduce and Recommendation engines
Experience with replication and distributed data stores.
Familiarity with software version control systems (i.e. Git).
