Program: The successful candidate will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction Department in the Special Programs Division (J9CXQ). Overall duties involve providing project management support to a Division that manages advanced research and development (R&D) programs that are focused on countering weapons of mass destruction. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate exceptional communications skills and the ability to manage a fast paced tasker tracking system and to consolidate inputs to produce executive level documents and briefings.
Job Description: The candidate will function primarily as a project manager working directly with the division front office leadership.
Will analyze assigned tasks, coordinate tracking, and manage responses to external and internal tasks assigned to the department.
Will routinely brief executive level customers regarding task loading and department level responses and respond to telephone queries on division activities.
Will integrate and deliver tasker inputs as organized and consolidated responses.
Will prepare correspondence.
Will maintain tracking spreadsheets and data bases for financial and travel execution.
Will collect raw material for executive level documents, briefings, and reports and consolidate into finished products.
Will prepare program management documentation, schedule and plan meetings, and coordinate with the government program management staff.
Will coordinate within the J9CX Department, within the J9 Directorate, within DTRA, and with organizations external to DTRA.
Current/active TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in a communications or business or technical discipline with 6 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree in a communications or business or technical discipline with 4 years of relevant experience.
Outstanding writing and interpersonal skills.
The ability to interface with executive level managers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency or a similar military staff.
DoD acquisition or financial experience is desired.
Experience with basic or applied research projects is desired.
