What you'll do:
Development Leader for two distinct ECUs used for a major OEM’s Autonomous Vehicle Project. One ECU is focused on Collision Avoidance. The other is a ultra-high grade Inertial Measurement System.

Responsible for all major milestones to ensure on-time deliveries, and customer satisfaction, such as system design, requirement creation, component purchasing, EE/ECAD design, thermal analysis, mechanical design, PCB/mechanical build/assembly for prototypes, manufacturing for production, DV/PV testing.
Lead the Product Design Team in the development of automotive safety products in accordance with VPDS (Veoneer Product Development System)
Product Development Team will include members from hardware, firmware, systems, mechanical, product assurance, product validation, purchasing, and manufacturing
Primary technical contact for the customer and Product Development Team
Help customer to develop system architecture for the Autonomous Driving ECU with cutting-edge technologies, such as automotive ethernet, FPD, DDR4, cooling strategy, automotive safety, etc.
Read and interpret customer specifications and ensure requirements are documented and incorporated into the product design
Lead in the development of mechanical and electrical domain and manufacturing technical requirements and specifications
Ensure test and analysis coverage validates that the design meets all requirements
Ensure manufacturing in a robust process
Responsible for delivery of design work products (HSIS, FMEA, FTA, WCA, Testability, Requirement Bilateral Traceability, others)
Drive failure analysis and present to the customer
In conjunction with Line Managers, ensure the proper internal processes and procedures are followed
Support Project Manager with VPDS deliverables
Manage engineering part release and change control
North America travel required to Veoneer manufacturing facility and customer sites in the US and Canada.

What you'll bring:
Must have minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree or equivalent
Must have minimum 7 years industry experience in the design, manufacture and/or testing of automotive products
Understanding on ADAS/autonomous driving/compute platform technologies, cameras, lidar, radar, IMU, sensor fusion, ADAS features,
Must have the ability to apply advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts in the development of automotive safety systems
Excellent oral and written technical communication skills
Automotive electronics design experience required
Manufacturing & quality experience in automotive industry preferred
Experience supporting North American OEMs preferred.
Basic understanding of functional safety, cyber security required.
Customer focus: Understand customer requirements and ensure deliverables meet expectations
Leadership: Strong leadership qualities and ability to lead a large, technical team
Teamwork: Engage & inspire others; drive collaboration
Electronics experience required
