Job Description:
Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Mission of the Role Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, unpacks and stores items received, and prepares items for shipment.
Education/Experience High School Diploma or equivalent and one to two years shipping/warehouse experience is desired. Must be able to stand or walk most of the day and lift cartons weighing up to 70 pounds on a regular basis. Education and/or experience requirements may be waived at management discretion.
Key Shipping and Receiving Clerk Accountabilities
Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, orders, or other records.
Examines incoming shipments for damage and shortages, rejects damaged or wrong items, and reports any discrepancies to purchasing.
Stores items after inspection following distribution department’s procedure. Pulls items for outgoing orders following instructions on shipper.
Pulls items for Value-Added Department following instructions on shipper.
Labels items with appropriate information (part number, barcode, description, carton number, etc).
Packs items in cartons following instructions.
Verifies outgoing items meet customer specifications (i.e. labels, packaging, carrier, etc). Double checks that items ready for shipment are correct.
Ships orders using the SX system.
Operates forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers.
Routes other items received to proper departments.
Keeps warehouse neat and clean.
Does inventory cycle counting.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
Follows all quality processes and procedures as established by Hartfiel Automation.
Operates within the intended framework of Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently and a maximum of 50 pounds infrequently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
