Naval Academy Preparatory School
Under the guidance and authority of the Athletic Director at the Coast Guard Academy, work on site at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI and be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the Coast Guard Academy preparatory candidates assigned to NAPS. The incumbent will report back to CGA’s Director of Admission, the Director of Athletics, and any of their designees on the status of these prospective CGA candidates assigned at NAPS. While at NAPS in this oversight position, the incumbent will work in the capacity of an assistant football coach and be assigned to the NAPS athletic department reporting directly to the NAPS Athletic Director. As an assistant coach, the incumbent will work for the NAPS Head Football Coach and teach different skills associated with the football program at practices and games, work to maintain statistics, and other related duties as assigned. Within the NAPS athletic department, the incumbent’s other duties will include providing assistance with physical education training/instruction, as well as other departmental operations and administration functions as directed by the NAPS Director of Athletics.
This position is a permanent full-time position and will run from 30 July through 5 May. For the months of May, June, and July the incumbent will be in a Leave Without Pay Status but will still be eligible for NAFI benefits..
Prior work experience as a high school, junior college or college football coach, as well as collegiate playing experience required; Bachelor’s degree required.

US Citizens and non-citizens authorized to work in the US, must have lived in the US for three of the last five years, and meet residency requirements set forth below:
1.Resided in the United States or its protectorate or territories (excluding short trips abroad, such as vacations);
2.Worked for the United States government as an employee overseas in a Federal or military capacity; or
3.Have been a dependent of a United States Federal or military employee serving overseas.
Exceptions may be granted to applicants if they can provide complete stateside coverage information required to make a suitability/security determination. Applicants must provide this information with their application for employment.
