Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Seven or more years of related experience is required. Knowledge of NCAA, Big Ten and University policies preferred. Other qualifications include the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups and administrators, faculty, staff and students. The successful applicant must be able develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions; work well independently and in teams; and be flexible in accepting new responsibilities.
License or Certificate:
Under the direction of the Head Football Coach and Senior Staff Sports Administrator for Football, act as the Senior Program Director and Recruiting Coordinator for a Division I Football program in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and University regulations.
Supervising all aspects of the football program budget.
Understanding and effectively utilizing the Elevation Financial Planning and Reporting System to create, manage, monitor and allocate all aspects of the football program budget. Day to day budget responsibility for: advertising, business travel, guarantees paid, interview and relocation, membership dues, office supplies and equipment, postage and printing, prizes and awards, recruiting travel, subscriptions and telephones.
Serving as a liaison between the football program and: Human Resources, Business Office, Academic Services Office, Compliance, Facility Maintenance and Custodial Services, Strength and Conditioning, Training Room, Athletic Communications, Equipment Room, Business Office, Event Management, Food and Beverage, Current Player Academics, Video Production Services and Athletic Administration.
Overseeing, supervising and evaluating all football office support staff.
Verifying and tracking scholarship offers, including management of NLI and Big Ten Tenders of Financial Aid through the Compliance Office. Managing rosters (scholarship and walk-ons). Managing recruiting services contracts. Overseeing marketing campaigns. Evaluating transcripts and admissions reviews. Coordinating official and unofficial visits. Coordinating evaluation and contact schedule for all coaches. Based on information provided by countable coaches, managing the recruiting board and database.
Oversee all major football projects: Work with the Head Football Coach to identify areas of need or improvement and developing a plan and working with Athletics administration to implement proposed improvements/changes. Overseeing all annual facility upgrades including but not limited to: Wall graphics, Award plaques, Meeting rooms, Locker rooms, Player lounge, and Trophy rooms/areas. Other projects as assigned by the Head Football Coach.
