How you will make an impact

The automation engineer would be responsible for the maintenance and support of the existing applications for two small scale sterile production lines that are used to produce clinical test materials for more than 85 different customers. This role is an entry level position that will provide the candidate a excellent platform to grow and develop. In this role the automation engineer will work closely with seasoned veterans to develop and enhance process automation application for present and future automation projects.

What you will do
Conduct engineering assignments requiring creativity to analyze situations and select appropriate course of action.
Manage multiple large projects/assignments simultaneously with substantial design outside discipline.
Analyze the data and facts concerning engineering assignments and develop a scope of work based upon broad engineering principles and established methods in effect in the industry which is consistent with the Companys standards and specifications.
Establish and maintain technical time, and cost objectives for projects using project specifications.
Oversee the design/drafting of new engineering drawings and specification
Be able to update existing drawings and specifications.
Ensure all cGMPs, safety practices, applicable codes, engineering standards, laws and insurance requirements are met in the design, construction, start up and qualification of assigned projects.

Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements.
Develops PLC ladder logic or function block and/or DCS system development. Prefer knowledge of A-B and Modicon PLCs and/or DCS D/3 experience.
Development of configurable control and supervisory systems and historian type program development. Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures.
Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills. Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure, able to multi-task and is results-oriented.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Effective time management and prioritization skills.
How you will get here
Education
A BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is preferred
Experience
3 years of experience in the development and support of computerized automation systems and networks.
Experience in computer control system start-ups, loop tuning, troubleshooting, and control system modifications. Experience developing process or equipment control applications.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
