The World Health Organization in 2018 announced recognition of “Video Gaming Disorder” as an official mental disorder, and with this announcement Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare has partnered with Dr. Greenfield to launch a cutting-edge Internet and Video Game Addiction Retreat Center for young adults. The Greenfield Recovery Center, located in Leyden, MA is set to open in January, 2020 and will be the first of its kind in the Northeastern United States. Young adults enrolled in the program will participate in group and in individual services focused on interpersonal and social skill development, and recreational activities to reduce compulsive technology use and facilitate healthy real-time living.
The Greenfield Recovery Center currently seeking a Clinical Executive Director. Qualified candidates must have a Masters or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling, Medicine, Psychiatric Nursing, or other Behavioral Health/Psychiatric discipline. Candidate must be licensed or license-eligible in the State of Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have a strong familiarity with various therapeutic approaches, with preference given to those with experience in addictions, and more specifically process/behavioral addiction, and 3+ years’ experience as a Program Director with supervisory duties.
The Executive Director will be key in successfully launching and managing a start-up program for Internet and Video Game Addictions. The position is responsible for the overall operations and provides supervision, oversight and leadership for all components of this highly-specialized, private, retreat center. The Executive Director will work closely with the team at Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare and Dr. Greenfield to build and train staff to deliver an evidence-based, comprehensive program for Internet, technology and gaming dependency.
