Washington International School's Primary campus, located near Georgetown University Hospital and the Duke Ellington School for the Arts, seeks substitute teachers for the 2018-19 school year. We have a special need for native French and Spanish speaking teachers who understand dual language immersion.
We have 450 students in Pre-School through grade 5; students in Pre-School, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten are taught in either French or Spanish. Beginning in grade 1, instruction is shared between English classroom teachers and a French or Spanish teacher. The grade level teams teach language arts, math, science and social studies in English and either French or Spanish, following an inquiry-based curriculum, the Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate. Subjects such as, PE, Music and Art, are taught by specialist teachers.
Are you an experienced elementary teacher who is either between jobs, new to the area or seeks a flexible schedule? Because of the necessary, school-day planning which is required for the teaching teams, we frequently need substitute teachers who can step in for part or all of the day.
You must have a relevant Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years' experience teaching elementary-aged students.
Please send a cover letter and resume and provide three professional references.
ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED.
