Key Responsibilities of Our Flight Attendants:
Ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers while providing exceptional customer service, at an altitude of at least 8,000 feet
Participate in preflight briefings and in-flight responsibilities
Provide assistance lifting and stowing luggage
Demonstrate the use of safety and emergency equipment and ensure safety requirements are met
Prepare, serve and sell beverages (including alcohol) and meals (which may include beef, pork, seafood, peanuts, etc.)
Answer questions and assist passengers when necessary, particularly those with special needs
Comfort and reassure passengers’ during the flight when an aircraft experiences delays or hits turbulence
Administer and coordinate emergency procedures or provide emergency care when needed
Respond to and provide clear and accurate directions (verbally or non-verbally) to passengers in the event of an emergency

Delta Air Lines’ flights operate day and night and all year-round; Flight Attendants must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.

Flight Attendant compensation is paid as an hourly rate for all hours flown or credited. Additional credits (premiums/incentive pay) are paid for, but are not limited to: Purser, Flight Leader, Language of Destination (LOD) premium pay, drafting pay, incentive pay, and expense reimbursements. Total compensation also includes Shared Rewards (benefits), Holiday Pay and profit sharing (based on company performance).
Flight attendants are paid semimonthly and pay is based on scheduled or actual flight time for each flight segment and/or the applicable credit time guarantee, whichever is greater.
As a Delta Flight Attendant, some factors that may affect your compensation are the number of hours you fly per month, tenure and geographic location.
Before beginning work in the Flight Attendant role, new hires must successfully complete eight weeks of training in Atlanta, Georgia. During this time, participants receive a training wage of $7.25/hr and some meals, as well as lodging for those who don't live in the Atlanta area.
What you need (minimum requirements):
Eligibility to work in the U.S.
Be at least 21 years of age by January 1, 2019
Have a high school diploma or GED
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to speak, read, write and understand English and German fluently
Willingness to comply with our uniform and appearance guidelines, including tattoos and piercings
Ability to obtain and keep current a passport and travel documents to freely enter and exit places where Delta flies
Complete a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test, and comprehensive background check, including government-required fingerprint-based criminal history record check
Ability to work in a physically demanding role which requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting (i.e., pushing/pulling beverage or food carts and lifting and opening emergency aircraft doors)
Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
1 plus years of work experience in personalized customer service, patient care, or similar role
Experience in a role ensuring the safety and/or care of others
Education beyond high school or GED
