ABOUT THE JOB

We are asking the high achiever to direct and manage two loading shifts (day and evening) with a commitment to responsibilities and very high expectations. Complete tasks and provide a safe, accurate and orderly progression of work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cover all absences of supervisors.
Ensure all customer orders are picked and loaded perfectly
Ensure all loads are assembled on-time
Proper planning of shift to assure of proper picking, loading and dispatch times.
Review all time sheets of employees on a daily basis, approve and forward to payroll.
Track any metrics of production as specified by management.
Discipline and manage employees with a direct firmness while being fair.
Maintain a clean and efficient warehouse.
Participate in weekly meetings as required.
Hold monthly operational meetings with employees to review production, new initiatives, safety, new packages, seasonal fluctuations, and any other pertinent information.
Meet with weekly with the VP of Operations.
Adhere to company policies and practices both within and outside of the department.
Run operation to meet or surpass budgets and goals.
Develop staff.
Proactively monitor and maintain morale of all employees including frontline.
All disciplinary issues are to be reviewed with Vice President of Operations and human resources on an as needed basis.
Achieve productivity targets.
Any other initiatives directed by Director of Operations or Company.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Strong communication and organization skills with attention to detail are necessary.
Candidate must possess aptitude to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Including ability to accurately complete required paperwork, present information to others and interact with others professionally.
Ability to express needs and address situations in professional manner.
High-quality mathematical and reasoning skills are fundamental.
Must be able to understand mathematics, percentages, reasoning skills, etc.
Candidate must be PC literate with a sound understanding of Microsoft Excel
Ability to create worksheets, formulas within cells, copy/paste and other skills necessary to operate Excel.
Must possess ability to learn and completely understand operating system, truck loading software, GPS and any other technologies that the company may introduce.
Candidate must possess capacity to read and interpret company documents and present reports.
Possess skill to apply an understanding to complete direction given by management or company.
Ability to learn new operating systems and new technologies as they present themselves.
Candidate must be able to think and communicate with clarity under intermittent pressure.
Candidate must possess organization skills and the ability to meet our customer’s expectations while meeting company goals. It is imperative that the candidate be very organized and has the capability to multi task. This is a very fast paced environment and the candidate must be able to react well under pressure.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

BA/BS degree with a minimum of 3 years experience required.
Strong project management skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills
Good computer skills
