Applied Materials has an exciting opportunity to join a world class Global Investigations and Digital Forensics Team. The Senior Investigator will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works collaboratively within Legal and jointly with the Information Security, HR, and Business Units to conduct a wide range of investigations. This role will support a Legal team responsible for managing legal and business processes for critical events including litigation, regularly requests, and internal investigations.

Responsibilities for this position include investigation, digital forensics, eDiscovery, incident response, along with strategic initiatives and policy for IP protection and data security. In connection with investigations, the candidate will be expected to engage in root cause analysis, lessons learned, policy and program recommendations, and assessment of IT control.

This position requires strong analytic capabilities, technical skills, communication skills, and creativity, as well as the ability to follow industry standard methods of properly identifying, collecting, and analyzing digital evidence and conduct forensic examinations.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science or other Technology related field from an accredited university and a minimum of 8 years of experience in computer forensics or related field, or a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience
A proven track record in digital forensics, eDiscovery services, and evidence collection and analysis, and litigation related queries
Experience conducting senior level digital forensics examinations on Microsoft Windows operating systems and Apple iOS devices using industry standard tools – e.g., Nuix, Oxygen, Magnet Forensics, EnCase, anti-virus software, data loss prevention (DLP) software, open source
Familiarity with Windows server administration and Active Directory
Relevant web protocols/environments include but are not limited to: XML, HTTP, TCP/IP, Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, Windows Server, Linux, Unix, web server technologies
Basic programming skills in one or more scripting languages, e.g., Perl, Python, PowerShell
Familiarity with Big Data tools and concepts, and their use in data analytics and investigations
Ability to independently assess scope of forensic requests and early case assessment
Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate and visually present complex forensic investigation and analysis results and draft concise reports for the intended audience, communicating and explaining effectively forensic findings in layman’s terms
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team; and the ability to gain the trust of legal and business stakeholders to achieved a desired objective
Ability to lead and/or participate in a global team, including developing strategic objectives, implementing workflows and processes, and managing personnel globally
Strong attention to detail, concern for data accuracy, and high personal integrity

Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in computer forensics and analysis, security, IT strategy and operations, design and implementation, and business applications.
Familiarity with international data privacy, cybersecurity and encryption laws and regulations
Familiarity with cyber security, IP networks, routing (IP/BGP, Internet peering), DNS
Understanding of security functions such as IDS, vulnerability detection, SEIM
Demonstrated experience with application security assessment techniques and tools
Working knowledge of Security Management Practices
Working knowledge of Open Source tools
Project management experience
Industry standard digital forensics certifications (EnCE, CCE, GCFE, GCFA, CFCE, CFE, CEH, GCIH, MSCE, CISSP etc.) preferred
Industry standard information security technology certifications (GCIH, GREM) are a plus
