Summary of Duties
Provides administrative and curatorial support to the Film/Video department, which programs approximately 170 screenings/public programs per year and operates an ongoing residency program that supports approximately 25 filmmakers and video artists per year. Responsible for paying artists and vendors, making travel arrangements for staff and visiting artists, overseeing film shipments, writing promotional copy, researching upcoming programs, booking films, producing film notes for screenings, providing studio archive support, assisting with the maintenance of studio artist apartment as needed, providing artist transportation locally as needed, and developing programs and initiating and coordinating filmmaker visits. Serves as liaison between department and university business departments. Supports outreach initiatives to campus and community groups. Attends and oversees screenings and events on evenings and weekends as needed. Supports resident studio artists on nights and weekends as needed. Represents department at professional events including festivals and conferences. Requires successful completion of a background check prior to employment.

Bachelor’s degree in Film and/or Art History or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated interest in film across genres, traditions and eras; strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once; excellent communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and proofreading; experience with current versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Valid driver’s license.
Experience with Photoshop and InDesign as well as database software such as FileMaker; knowledge of university policies and procurement procedures; knowledge of contemporary film and current emerging filmmakers; advanced research skills; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish; knowledge of 20th and 21st century art emphasizing film and contemporary art; experience in film programming or film festival.
Target Salary $16.50 - $18.00 Hourly
