Position Overview

Boutique public relations (PR) agency is looking for self-starting, independently motivated individual to join the team.

We are looking for results driven, highly professional individuals for a full-time, salaried position.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5-7 years’ PR agency or in-house corporate PR experience and the IT security, financial services or mobile technology sectors. Candidates must demonstrate a history of successful media outreach, have impeccable writing skills and previous client management experience.

MIX Public Relations a virtual office so you must be able to manage your time wisely and understand the telecommuting environment, as you will be working from home. This means you have the ability to be clear/articulate on conference calls without background noise and present a professional work environment to clients and colleagues during business hours. You will need to work at a computer and on the phone for the duration of the workday without interruption.

Please note that this is not an entry-level position and only applicants with previous PR experience (agency or in-house) will be considered. Writing samples and examples of successful/recent media outreach will be expected to move forward in the process.

Account Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Support and direct account teams in the development, coordination, implementation and administration of public relations campaigns using traditional and social media tools
  • Provide client consultancy and day-to-day account management
  • Secure client inclusion in tier-one print, broadcast and online media
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivates new contacts within business and industry media
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow client industry awareness
  • Ensure that rapid response opportunities for clients are not missed
  • Clearly articulate clients’ business model and strategy and how client PR campaigns contribute toward their business goals
  • Negotiate and manage client expectations and satisfaction; provide strategic and tactical recommendations and anticipate needs; proactively engages on issues and offers solutions
  • Anticipate client communication challenges and develop recommendations
  • Consistently provide strategic and tactical counsel that maps to clients’ business problem
  • Effectively participate in brainstorms, develop creative campaign ideas and new ways of working
  • Manage multiple clients’ account work and projects and tracks team progress on all tasks with little guidance
  • Report issues with scope of work and make recommendations on ways to resolve
  • Maintain exceptional writing and editing skills, proofs team’s content and consistently deliver pristine, mistake-free and client-ready content
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of social media and can advise clients
  • Support clients to execute flawless event experiences
  • Act as a mentor for less-experienced co-workers
  • Help agency-wide efforts like new business initiatives and award opportunities
  • Participate in new business pitch teams
  • Identify exemplary client campaigns that fit public relations award criteria and creates submissions for agency review
