World Wide Technology, LLC has an opportunity available for a Wireless Telecommunications Technician to support our team located in Edwardsville, IL.
Identification and developing criteria to verify functionality of new and returned UMTS & LTE Ericsson and Nokia/ALU Network telecommunication & various power equipment.
Help design and implement installation and integration MOPs and work instructions of electronic and power equipment specifications and/or configuration Instructions, following AT&T and OEM Installation guidelines.
Providing solutions to all types of technical equipment installations, (RF, transmission, power, alarms, etc.)
Creating design implementation to Integrate hardware, configure & test equipment (LTE & Power equipment)
Identifying and troubleshooting Network System/Equipment performance issues
Provide assistance in developing processes and leading technical effort.
Coordinate and execute customer driven demand projects and / or requests
Participate in Lab Services research and development to increase business opportunities.
Interfaces with customers
Achieves internal and external goals by coordinating with Inventory Control, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Contract Administration.
Understands TL9000 and ISO9000 requirements
Complies with and promotes safety guidelines
Promotes a clean and organized warehouse operation
Adheres to all company human resources, quality, and operations.
Solid understanding of cellular RF, Power (AC, DC) & RF engineering tools.
Minimum 2 years experience as a RF engineer in the wireless industry with working knowledge of UMTS and LTE equipment installation and industry standards.
Education and experience: BS in Engineering or equivalent technical degree preferred, with equivalent work experience required.
AT&T TP76300 Standards knowledge or equivalent (72202, Teclordia standards).
Good understanding of RF (radio frequency) theory and RF design
With ability to implement test procedures with various testing equipment such as Signal Analyzers, etc.
A high level of organization & computer literacy
Network / Telecommunication engineering background preferred
Minimum 2 years integration/configuration/commissioning experience
Strong knowledge of DC and AC circuitry
Installation of Emerson (Vertiv), Alpha and/or GE BDFB power bays. -Installation of North Star Batteries and supporting equipment (cables, conduit runs)
Certifications/Training: Ericsson/ALU/Nokia/Commscope LTE/GSM/TDMA/CDMA/UMTS wireless network optimization
Ability to troubleshoot network / telecommunication / wireless problems.
Ability to self-manage responsibilities in order to achieve daily results.
Able to work in confined spaces
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be a great partner across functional areas
Able to read Engineering documents.
ESD (Electrostatic Discharge): Knowledge of Handling ESD Protected Material
