Process the collection of revenue through several computerized financial management systems: Banner, People soft and T2. Including but not limited to: Student tuition and fees, housing and meal plan, library fines, application and transcript fees along with parking permits, citations, invoice payments and department deposits. Respond to inquiries by phone and in person from customers regarding their financial accounts in compliance with FERPA regulations.
Uses the Student Financial System (Banner) to process student payments and post transactions from Touchnet. Ensures transactions are administratively compliant with USF policies using established guidelines and processes. Responsible for accuracy of monies and related supporting documents, daily settlement and deposit preparation for revenue received. Point person for "Florida Prepaid" and tuition waivers to disseminate information to students and parents. Reconciles monthly merchant statements. Responds to and facilitates emails and phone calls directed to "cashier".
Interpret student's tuition accounts, assists with student issues/conflicts when possible at the point of contact. Advises and interprets policies and procedures regarding payment deadlines and parking rules and regulations. Makes contact with key areas/offices on behalf of students to help resolve student problems efficiently and reduce frustration. Serves as backup cashier for parking services.
Research discrepancies and payments received without invoices or reference identification. Facilitates customer refunds and third party payments, process mail and drop box payments. Enters department deposits into FAST system.
General office tasks: Compose and send correspondence, filing, and assists with monthly mail outs for Parking Services and permit pick-up and distribution.
Presents to transfer and FTIC orientations cashier and parking presentations as well as updates flyers and PowerPoint to ensure accuracy with current rates and information.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or assistant director.
This position requires a high school diploma and a minimum of two years of fiscal, office or business support experience of an equivalent level. Appropriate college coursework may substitute for required experience.
Experience with BANNER and/or People soft and/or T2 software. Excel spreadsheet skills, 10 key adding machine.
