ABOUT YOU:

ABOUT THE JOB:
This is NOT just a SAFETY position! The environmental regulatory compliance part of the EHS position is critical to the success of this role.
As the Facility (EHS) Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with all OSHA and EPA programs. You will be the in-house expert of all OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, NFPA and other regulatory issues relative to Wis-Pak/WP Beverages facility and grounds. You will manage the facility’s EHS programs including but not limited to worker’s compensation investigations, property damage incidents, compiling statistics to identify trends and recommending solutions to reduce injuries and hazards. As the Chairperson of the Safety Committee, you will assist in the development and conduct all EHS training for employees. The Facility EHS Specialist is accountable for inspiring and executing strategies which achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational, Safety & Health and/or equivalent experience, education and training
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, Instructor Certification preferred
- OSHA 10-HR & OSHA 30-HR Certified
- 3 to 5 years of experience in safety REQUIRED
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Working knowledge of and effective ability to train on safety codes, OSHA regulations, hazardous material and emergency preparedness
- Must be able to coordinate and respond to local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
