About this Opportunity
As a Writer/Editor, you'll be responsible for teaming with print and digital designers to develop customer-focused tools for marketing Herman Miller's brand, products, and services.

Adapt source material for diverse platforms, including social media and digital marketing.
Copy edit print and digital content for accuracy, voice, and style.
Maintain editorial style guidelines across platforms and tailor Herman Miller’s brand voice to specific audiences.
Manage external resources and ensure brand standards throughout the course of a project.
Participate in complex information management projects for a variety of internal clients and synthesize input from marketing partners and experts.
Research, understand, advocate for, and preserve Herman Miller's brand, points of view, and voice.
Work collaboratively with Editorial colleagues to provide insight and inspiration, and to develop and revise editorial processes as needed.
Work with Marketing partners to understand audiences and inspire them through relevant and meaningful content.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you have...
A Bachelor's degree in a Communications-related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Three to five years of experience in corporate, employee, or marketing communications, with editorial involvement from concept development to graphic production, both print and electronic.
Experience working with other creative fields, particularly visual/graphic designers to bring words and pictures together in the service of stronger storytelling.
A demonstrated aptitude for analytical thinking, writing, and editing.
Proficiency in the Chicago Manual of Style (preferred).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels and functions within the organization.
A proven understanding of the practical applications of SEO/SEM strategies as they relate to content.
A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
A demonstrated ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Polycom videoconferencing.
The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
