ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The College of Nursing is one of the four colleges in USF Health at the University of South Florida, and offers Baccalaureate, Masters, and Doctoral programs. The college is part of the second largest university in the Southeast and one of three Research 1 Universities in the Florida State University System.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs; may serve as a liaison between USF College of Nursing and designated clinical facilities, requiring some travel to clinical facilities; mentor nursing students, and engage in college, university, community and professional service activities that commensurate with the rank of assistant professor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Didactic, online and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate level courses.
Program and curriculum review and clinical site and student evaluation

Conducts scholarly activiities, including publication and presentation to be successful in meeting the APT criteria for promotion to the rank of Associate Professor.

Serve on college and university committees where appropriate. Community and professional service activities in accordance with university criteria for appointment as an assistant professor.

PHYISCAL DEMANDS:
Travel to sites and monitor students' progress at these sites. May require walking and standing for 12-hour days.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of assistant professor.

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates will possess a PhD in Nursing; be eligible to practice and maintain licensure as an RN in the state of Florida. Demonstrated record of achievement in scholarship.

PREFERRED:
Experience with technology supported educational methods (online or blended format); demonstrated ability to work effectively with community partners; experience with diverse learners; current clinical practice experience; experience teaching in an academic baccalaureate program.
