Summary: Responsible for supporting the company's sales goals through good customer service, maintaining quality relations with existing accounts, and providing sales coverage by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works assigned territory by receiving calls, processing orders, and addressing client and prospect inquiries in a timely manner.*
  • Develops maximum sales potential out of assigned customers through good customer service techniques and knowledge of the company's products and services, as well as the competition's strengths/weaknesses.*
  • Educates clients on various products based on client needs.*
  • Applies knowledge of company products/services to efficiently process customer information.*
  • Responds to inquiries and complaints in a diplomatic manner.*
  • Handles all aspects of ordering, including sampling and returns, and confirms / qualifies the client as appropriate.*
  • Works with various departments, including sampling and the warehouse.*
  • Manages all facets of customer account, including account maintenance.*
  • Keeps Sales Representatives current on new product offerings.*
  • Enters all client orders into the system within 24 hours.*
  • Works closely with Sales Representatives and clients to ensure excellent customer service.*
  • Follows instructions as provided by the Customer Service Manager.
  • Provides backup to Customer Service Team and Receptionist.
  • Develops new leads in assigned territories as required.*
  • Travels as needed to meet clients, attend trade shows, and to accompany Sales Representatives.
  • Builds and maintains quality relations with assigned customers, and increases volume of sales on a consistent basis through ongoing determination of customer requirements.*
  • Contacts customers via telephone or correspondence as frequently as necessary to meet and surpass sales goals for the company.*
  • Calculates prices, discounts, and proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an efficient manner.*
  • Remains current on market conditions regarding products, product updates, and new technologies through available resources.*
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine quotes, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Yahoo, Google, and SAP.


Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and one to two years of experience in a call center environment; or at least five years of experience in a call center environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
