Flight Engineer - 1A1X1
This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air Force Reserve. The application is for a specific position within the Air Force Reserve.
Position Summary
No flight ever initiates without a thorough inspection. It’s the duty of our Flight Engineers to monitor, inspect and operate all mechanical systems to keep them on point to meet mission objectives day in and day out. This crucial aircrew role requires attention to detail and advanced skills to ensure our Airmen can safely and efficiently complete every mission.
Primary Responsibilities
- Compute and distribute aircraft data and determine fuel consumption.
- Operate and monitor engine and aircraft system controls.
- Report abnormal conditions and recommend corrective measures to pilots.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft inspections.

Qualifications
This is an active-duty position as an Air Force Reserve officer. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma. Courses in mechanics, mathematics, physics, computer principles, typing, speech, and English are desirable but not required
- General; Mechanical ASVAB requirements
- Successfully complete a Class III Flight Physical
- Height between 64 and 77 inches
- Normal depth perception
- Successful completion of a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 39
