The Marketing team at Carta is small but growing fast. We’re focused on driving growth for Carta by increasing brand awareness and generating demand for our products and services for companies and investors.

We believe that creating high-quality content about equity, ownership, valuations, portfolio management, and related topics will drive significant growth. In addition to telling people about our products, we want to become the go-to source for understanding employee equity and helping companies create more owners.

The Head of Content Marketing will own content strategy for Carta. You’ll develop the editorial calendar and generate all types of content, from thought leadership pieces, to product blog posts, and sales enablement materials. You’ll also collaborate with the growth marketing team on distribution strategies, search engine optimization, and an approach to gating content, with the goal of raising awareness, generating new leads, and nurturing existing leads.

As you build out the program, you will also hire and manage a content marketing team. You’ll inspire and coach writers to produce relatable and compelling editorial content, email subject lines, web copy, one-pagers, and more.
Responsibilities
Own content strategy for Carta and manage Carta’s editorial calendar
Be the primary writer and editor for Carta’s blog
Develop a brand voice and tone guide for Carta
Help other employees contribute to the blog and hire contractors when needed
Collaborate with sales and product marketing on sales enablement content including case studies, data-driven blog posts and pdfs, and educational content about our products
Develop distribution strategies for new and existing content, with the help of the growth marketing team
Work with our SEO agency to identify content opportunities that will drive organic growth
Help analyze content performance
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 4 years in a content marketing or writing role
Experience in SaaS, preferably in Fintech
You’ve managed a team of content creators, preferably in-house
You’re both a writer and a content strategist, who feels equally comfortable editing posts, developing new content ideas, and collaborating on a distribution strategy
You’re organized, deadline-driven, and good at managing projects and workflows
You have a cross-functional mindset and experience collaborating with contributing writers, sales teams, and growth marketers
You have proven writing and storytelling skills, and you can provide writing samples
