Job Summary:
Collects, reviews and analyzes data to evaluate cost of inventory, while maintaining compliance to GAAP on lower cost or market as well as operational opportunities to leverage existing inventory on hand. Position provides finance and business-related reports and makes recommendations to operational leaders in the company. Liaise between plants, operations and financial teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts special financial and business-related studies and leads cross-functional interaction to prepare the analysis. Delivers and communicates the work products.
Develops tools to help analyze inventory
Performs cost accounting as needed to understand changes in the manufacturing environment
Provides detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems, applying principles of cost accounting.
Gathers and studies data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
Analyzes changes in our process such as raw material variances or manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs.
Conducts statistical and financial analysis recommending required levels of inventory based on production & demand schedules while minimizing inventory and carrying costs.
Analyzes actual manufacturing costs, and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Complete Quarterly lower cost or market testing.
Aid in testing and implementation of our Production Inventory ERP cost accounting system.
Interfaces with Plant Managers and Directors of Operations as required in areas of production orders, physical inventory counts, and operational planning.
Performs other duties and projects, as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business, or equivalent work experience
3-5 years’ professional experience in a financial analyst, accounting, or similar position
Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in various other office and software programs
Excellent analytical skills
Strong, effective problem-solving skills
Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices and procedures of accounting and operations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self starter- motivated to initiate tasks and work without supervision
Team player, interacts well with executives, supervisors and peers
Glass processing, aggerates or manufacturing experience, a plus
