Job Description
This position will play a central role on the fast-paced global Data Privacy Team, responsible for managing data privacy risk throughout the company. The ideal candidate has experience working on data privacy compliance matters, including counseling businesses on privacy-related issues, preferably at a firm or in a corporate legal department for the past few years. The position will report directly to the Senior Counsel, Marketing & Data Privacy.
Job Responsibilities
Provide practical and timely counseling to business on compliance with Kraft Heinz policies and relevant legal requirements, including laws regulating use of consumer and/or employee personal information.
Develop innovative and compliant solutions to manage data privacy and security risk and achieve business goals and strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues on the legal team and throughout Kraft Heinz to drive data privacy and data security compliance
Stay abreast of, and advise on, regulatory and industry developments, including monitoring trends in data privacy and security laws, regulations, and enforcement
Update externally-facing privacy notices and internal privacy-related policies as required or appropriate
Conduct privacy and data protection impact assessments
Deliver general and role-specific data privacy and security training
Review and advise on vendor agreements with respect to data privacy provisions
Maintain active and constructive working relationships throughout the company to ensure effective cross-functional relationships and increase data privacy program awareness
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and top academic credentials
2 to 4 years of experience, preferably at a top-tier law firm or corporate law department
Experience drafting privacy compliance documentation, such as privacy notices, conducting privacy risk assessments, negotiating contracts involving personal information, and/or counseling businesses on data privacy issues
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to clearly communicate complex ideas to non-legal audiences.
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with changing priorities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound judgment
CIPP certification preferred
