Do you enjoy working in many areas of facilities - no one workday is the same? Are you skilled in using various tools? Are you knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing? Can you troubleshoot and assess building maintenance issues? Are you reliable? If you answered yes to the above, we have the job for you! As the Facilities Operations Specialist, you’ll work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure that facilities are safe and well functioning. This is a hands on role that requires the ability to work independently and travel frequently throughout NC.
Maintain electrical and mechanical systems by monitoring system performance; conduct daily system checks; administer preventative maintenance; oversee unit operation; performing routine visits; and assist with system installation.
Monitor contractor work, including scheduling, equipment, supplies and access needs for electrical, plumbing, construction, landscaping, cleaning and building personnel.
Keep manager informed of project status, issues and potential future project or material needs.
Travel approximately 20% to regional offices to performing electrical installations, small repairs, and minor plumbing, etc.Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Maintain records of work done, expenses, etc. on a spreadsheet.Manage project and remodel budget; retain files of all preventative maintenance activities; and maintain records of credit card purchases.
Purchase, retrieve and transport supplies.
Provides coverage for the Administration Department and participates in various NCEL projects as needed.
Experience with basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building construction.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Capable of making sound, independent judgement calls and decisions.
Flexibility for occasional weekend, evening and overnight travel.
Microsoft Office:Word, Excel, Outlook
4 – 6 years of relevant experience
Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
Valid State Driver's License
Hiring Range: $19.31 (this non-exempt position will be filled at/near the posted hourly rate)
