Mickeys Linen is seeking an experienced Accountant supporting the company Controller and leadership Team by providing timely financial reports and recommendations. They will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of our financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a high level of expertise in accounting, general ledger responsibilities, financial reporting, and accounting software. They will be responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are adhered and preparing accurate and timely financial reporting. Must have the ability to reduce risks related to internal controls over the accounting functions with the ability to improve efficiency and timeliness within the accounting process.
Key Responsibilities of the Accountant Role:
- Maintain and manage all aspects of the general ledger.
- Perform full cycle accounts of payable and receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Generate and analyze financial statements and reports for leadership review.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns, 401(k) as well as other required financial reports.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Work closely with external auditors during annual audits.
- Provide support and guidance to other staff members on accounting issues
Skills and Experiences We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA certification is desirable.
- Minimum of five to seven years of corporate accounting experience in maintaining the general ledger and related financial reports on a timely basis. Two years of public accounting experience is a plus.
- Proficient in accounting software, MS Office, advanced Excel skills.
- Previous experience with Sage Inacct (or other large ERP Systems) experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
