Job Title: Mechanical Systems Test Engineer

About the Role – You will:
Develop and execute system-level performance, vibration, and thermal evaluations.
Be in a hands on role; setting up customer systems with operating system, install io performance tools, and install system control/diagnostic tools. Load systems with hard drives and/or solid state drives.
Execute io-performance, vibration, and thermal evaluations while varying environmental conditions. Analyze and document results.
Develop software tools to expedite execution, analysis, and documentation of results.
Develop and maintain standardized test procedures including hardware configurations, software, scripting, and data analysis tools.
About Our Group

We are Seagate Product Development Group providing mechanical design and analysis for hard disk drive and solid state drive products. We analyze and solve complex mechanical, vibration, servo-control, and thermal problems. We validate our products in end-customer systems ensuring robust and reliable field operation.

Strong desire to learn new systems and methods to keep up with rapidly evolving product and test requirements.
Broad knowledge of hardware and software. Working knowledge of embedded systems, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and basic programming tasks using bash scripts, Python, and Matlab. Working knowledge of Linux OS and package installations.
Practical skills such as system mechanical assembly, simple solder tasks, and use of oscilloscope and data acquisition tools.

Your Experience Includes:
Experience developing and/or testing embedded systems.
Experience developing and/or testing hard disk drives and/or solid state drives
Working knowledge of Linux, Python, Win OS, Matlab
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience, with preferred areas of studies in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science.
