SoluStaff is actively recruiting a Software Application Engineer for its customer, located in Center City Philadelphia. The primary responsibility of the Software Application Engineer is to support an enterprise software application developed by third-party vendors in the areas of testing, development, bug fixes and routine operations. As an integral part of the team, the Engineer will work closely with multiple business units of the customer. This is a full-time position.
Administration, maintenance, configuration, and tuning of software developed by third-party vendors.
Create, maintain, and enhance the following: test, validation, and logging infrastructure for internal and third-party databases and software
Prepare periodic reports on usage and metrics for the purpose of resource planning, customer support and strategic development.
Collaborate with members of the team and its customers to manage day-to-day issues and develop solutions to problems.
Collaborate with external software vendors as necessary to provide support for solutions and new development.
Perform User Acceptance Testing and other software testing efforts as needed.
Test issues such as system integration, performance, and system security on a regular schedule or after any major program
Other duties as assigned.
Completion of a BS or MS degree program at an accredited college or university, which has included major course work in Computer Science, Information Science, Systems Analysis, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
Minimum 3 years of technical experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux environments at an enterprise level
Database management systems such as ORACLE and SQL
Organizational skills, problem solving and critical thinking
Configuration of software features on complex systems
Work both independently and part of team
Work under tight deadlines and reliably deliver work of the highest standards on time
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and communicate them visually
Strong verbal communication skills (oral and writing)
Experience with UAT and software testing
Experience with user/customer support
Strong understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, storage, security, )
Experience in 24x7 operations, overseeing sites with constant high traffic
Experience writing and maintaining tools and scripts to support automation and operations
Experience in secure, scalable and highly available online services
Experience collaborating with multiple teams
Experience of the SDLC.
