Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, Swiss CNC) to perform precision machining operations - *** SPECIFICALLY STAR AND TSUGAMI SWISS CNCS ***
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and attachments for each job
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years CNC experience, minimum of 5 years of SWISS
- Proficiency in operating, programming, and setup of CNC machines, including knowledge of Fanuc and Haas controls
-Experience setting up, operating, and programming STAR and Tsugami Swiss CNC machines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Experience operating and programming Swiss CNCs, HAAS lathes and mills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
