This position is located in the School of Dental Medicine and will report to the Director of Clinics for Clinical Affairs. This position will provide administrative support for the faculty and staff in Clinical Affairs by handling a variety of responsibilities, including scheduling meetings, maintaining a calendar, coordinating travel, preparation of documents and reports, compiling records, and being in contact with different administrators, patients, and students. The incumbent must plan, direct and coordinate the many tasks that must be accomplished in order for the School to meet deadlines and expectations from a wide variety of internal and external constituents. The incumbent problem solves in response to requests from key administrators as well as coordinates and tracks projects to ensure that the project is completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The incumbent must be able to manage the Director of Clinics’ schedule and recognize the importance of the many demands that are placed upon the Director of Clinics time, while being cognizant of the need to provide the Director of Clinics with adequate time to respond to phone calls, emails, requests for information, etc. The individual is this position is the official gatekeeper of the Director of Clinics schedule and must be able to maintain flexibility on a moment’s notice to accommodate scheduling requests from the Dean, and other key administrators, both internal and external to the University. The individual in this position will identify topics and prepare agendas for various meeting as well as monitor, attend, and prepare minutes for these meetings. In order to accomplish the above tasks in an effective and efficient manner, the individual in this position must organize and prioritize the various projects and responsibilities that are within the purview of the School of Dental Medicine.
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel/Outlook/Word, patient scheduling (or patient representative experience), general dentistry knowledge and dental practice experience.
