The Anatomic Pathology Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of Anatomic Pathology. Anatomic Pathology comprises of Cytology, Histology and Molecular Diagnostics and Pathology Assistant.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors of science in related field

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Cytotechnologist (ASCP) or Histotechnologist (ASCP)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) years experience in lab operations AND Three (3) years progressive experience in a lead, coordinator or supervisory role.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Working knowledge of anatomic pathology operations. Personnel management experience. Understanding of revenue cycle and registration processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work both independently and effectively with others. Excellent communication and writing skills.

Essential Functions:
Recommends and initiates personnel actions for hires, conductsperformance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job duties.
Develops metrics and monitors departmental performance and when necessary, takes steps to improve.
Prepares an annual budget for the department(s); monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditures to budget on a periodic basis.
Prepares an annual capital budget and submits capital budget requests as needed.
Ensures departmental operations are compliant with applicable regulatory requirements.
Coordinates with the medical staff on issues which impact department and clinical operations.
Investigates abnormal follow-up of all LGL & HGL gyn cases monthly.
Prepares/assesses all cytologic QC and QA monthly statistics for: Cytologists, Pathologists and the Department
Oversees all aspects of operations of Cytology, Histology, Molecular Diagnostics and Pathology Assistant departments.
Directly managesanatomic pathology supervisor.
Serves as resource for laboratory leadership dyad.
Monitors productivity and efficiency reports for improvement opportunities.
Conducts performance evaluations for department personnel and periodic check-in's for new associates.
Represents the department on hospital committees.
Responsible for recruitment activities for all anatomic pathology personnel.
Prepares annual operating and capital budget for anatomic pathology.
Responsible for department's overall state of preparedness for regulatory inspection.
