Job Summary:
The Pharmacy technician is responsible for serving customers and accurately billing for and dispensing prescriptions medications. He/ She is also expected to dispense medication ready for pick up, record sales on the cash register, collect co-payments, answer phone calls, perform administrative tasks, assist with merchandising responsibilities, such as stocking, pricing and keeping the store neat, clean and organized.
Summary of essential job Functions:
- Provides prompt, courteous customer service
- Processes prescription medications and assists in dispensing
- Retrieves and dispenses bagged prescriptions medications ready for pick up
- Ensure customers receive medications on time by following up on refills and problems RXs
- Answers phone calls and assists in communication with clinics, hospitals, and other medical centers
- Rings up sales on cash register, properly and accurately handling money, credit/debit cards, checks and other types of payment received for products sold
- Assists in ordering merchandise and maintaining proper inventory levels
- Performs housecleaning duties necessary to maintain store cleanliness and basic upkeep and/or cleaning of all equipment in the store
Hours:
- Monday-Friday 10:00am-7:00pm
- Candidates are expected to work 30-40 hours per week.
Requirements:
- Long term career plan.
- At least one year of pharmacy experience.
- Creole, Spanish, or Arabic preferred.
- Agility to promote and market the business to customers in the store.
- Computer proficiency.
- Excellent typing speed
- Ability to operate a cash register.
- attentiveness to detail, and good communication skills
Desired experiences and qualifications:
- Ability to talk to customers and market the Pharmacy.
- Fluency in Spanish/creole preferred.
- Experience with prescription Billing
- Familiarity with Micro Merchant Systems Pharmacy software preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $32.00 per hour
